Xclaim Xi-2 can do half the thorughput as expected

Can you please help me. I have a project with Xi-2 with the following settings

  • 2.4GHz Band: channel manual, width 20MHz, max power, separate SSID
  • 5.8GHz Band: channel manual, width 40MHz, max power, separate SSID
  • Encryption yes; no speed limits, no client separation

Firmware is the latest ( The satus LED is constantly lit green.

Measured speeds 1m away from device were 30Mbps via SSID operating @ 2.4GHz, 56Mbps via SSID operating @ 5GHz.

Earlier it did around maximum performance (about 100Mbps with iPhone 6 as well as an Acer Travelmate device with 5GHz-n AP. AP had been factory reset 3+ times. Cables were changed, AP is connected to Gbit POE switch

I suspect that the aerial set has an issue. Can you test / check it remotely.

    Hello @chubbystun ,

    Here is our analysis:

    • 2.4GHz , 20Mhz band - The max theoretical throughput that you could get from a 1 spatial stream device in this channel is around 30-40 Mbps. This is inline with what you are observing
    • 5GHz , 40Mhz band - Since you are using an iPhone6 for testing(which is a single spatial stream device) , the max practical throughput that should be acheivable should be between 70-100 Mbps. This also appears to be inline with what you are observing.

    Can you please perform the same tests using a laptop and check if you are seeing better values?

    I am experiencing the same with Xi3s in some locations. What was the outcome of this?
